EMS Instructor Methodology- Hybrid
Day 1: 10/30- 1800-2200 (Online: Zoom)
Day 2: Online (self-study 10 hours)
Day 3: 11/6- 1800-2200 (Online: Zoom)
Day 4: Online (self-study 12 hours)
Day 5: 11/13- 0800-1700 (In-Person Session: 4300 Broadway, Allentown, PA 18104)
Day 6: Completed by 11/17, 23:59 (Wrap-up, self-study & reflection)
Additional self-paced, online work is required to complete this course.
Prerequisites:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Current CPR or CPR instructor certification
- Current certification as EMT or higher level EMS provider
- Minimum one year experience in providing EMS
Course Objectives:
- Understand educational best practices as they relate to EMS education.
- Describe various teaching strategies and their appropriate applications in EMS education to engage students in learning.
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials for EMS education that align with established learning objectives.
- Utilize technology, simulation, and other tools effectively to enhance EMS instruction.
- Evaluate student performance and provide constructive guidance.
